Great Groomsmen Gifts

A majority of my couples are traveling from out of state to get married here in beautiful Central Oregon.  With so many great spots to choose from that couples really do fly in from all over the country.  Flying does bring a few challenges to transport favors and gifts for your Bridal Party.

I have had many of my couples choose to ship items to me to hold and then deliver on wedding day or at rehearsal.

I recently found this great company Groovy Groomsmen Gifts  They have too many great choices.  When ever I meet a new company I want to try them out before sending clients their way.  I need to make sure the customer service and product is a high enough quality that my couples will be impressed and happy.  So I ordered the Flask  with my initials on it.    The website was easy to navigate and the customer service was top notch.  My flask was shipped quickly and well padded.  A few days later it was time to take it for a test run!  I filled it up with some Pendelton Whiskey and took it out to the Free Sunday Music.  The seal worked great! (It's just not for looks!)  I loved it!  ( I wish I would have taken a picture of it in use!)

I will be using Groovy Groomsmen Gifts in the future and will recommend them to all my couples looking for some great gifts at a great price!

Check them out!

Wedding at the Head Waters of the Metolius River

Headwaters of the Metolius is a old homestead.  I had the Honor of working with the bride, Connie to ensure her vision became a reality.

Since Bend Weddings is based in Central Oregon we are use to all the extra details that come with planning a out door wedding.

Central Oregon is a perfect back drop for a destination wedding

We had a quarter mile walk from the parking to the ceremony so we brought in Illuminate Your Night to light the path and to also add lights to the dance floor.

Chalked was also brought in to make sign to let the guest know where to park and to welcome them to the wedding.  We also had signs through out the property with events that could be expected through out the reception.

Peanuts gallery brought in some great pieces to create a out door lounge!  How lovely it was to sit along the water in a comfy sofa!

Central Events was out the day before setting up the dance floor that needed extra padding with the rolling grass!  By the time they were finished the dance floor was perfect!

Bleu Bite created a menu to fit the bride and grooms taste.  It was a lovely Pacific North west cuisine followed by a Sundae bar.

We also had Foxtail Create a bride cake and a grooms cake and dozens of cupcakes for the guest to enjoy.

The river was great for the kids to dip their feet in.  There was also a kids area where we set up crayon, colored pencils, plenty of paper, ring pops, bubbles, and bug hunting kits!

Heirloom Photography was on site the entire day to capture all of the special moments...

1st Looks

Some of my favorite pictures are the special moments that are taken during the 1st look.

These pictures were from Byron Roe and were such a great peak into Mckenzie & David's love for each other and their dogs.

I love how the dogs are all eyes!  Another great picture by Byron roe!

Powers Studio captured this moment between Eric & Jules.  A special moment on the families private ranch.

These two love birds hired the Bend Trolley to escort them to the was a great way to capture some 1st shots.

A great way to get to the ceremony location from town!  Josselyn peterson captured this moment before the bride  disappeared to get dressed for the ceremony

These two did a 1st look...but did not see each other.  They spoke and exchanged gifts.  You can see the excitement in their eyes!

Aspen Hall

Katie & Chris

 (Real Wedding at Aspen Hall)

Katie hired me just a few months before her wedding to help her with her timeline, finalize her vision and set up.  We met a few times to go over her vision and I helped her find the vendors she still needed and manage all the day of details.

{Fiona & Ian} Jazz Themed Real Wedding

Fiona and her mother Debra hired me about 9 months before the big day to help them turn their vision into a reality.  I love helping couples find the vendors that are the best fit for their style and their budget.  Since I have been working in the wedding industry here in Bend Oregon for over ten years I know many of the vendors on a personal level.  So I know who will work great together and their inventory.  Knowing who carries what save the couples hours of doing the research them selves.

The couple decided to do a first look.  The photographer was Senneh with Heirloom Photography and she captured the love between theses two love birds perfectly!

The love during the reception was flowing. The Bride sang to her groom. The brides sister sang instead of a toast.

This lovely dress was purchased at the Bridal Suite

A perfect moment alone equals a beautiful sunset picture!

Real Wedding Ben & Kat For the Love of Details

I had the pleasure to work with Ben and Kat for 10 months leading up to their wedding.  They choose Aspen Hall for their October 2nd wedding.  Being a fall wedding they picked wedding colors that reflected the season.  My favorite part of working with these two was all the details they added that reflected who they are.  There wedding truly represented them as individuals!

The couple also used their ceremony chairs which were rented from Central Event Rentals as a place to hand out the sunglasses favors early in the celebration. Many guest put them on for the ceremony.  Ben and Kat put theirs on after the first kiss!

Illuminate your Night decorated the hall with her lights and created her new back drop to go behind the sweet heart table which we moved afterwards dinner and then was a back drop for the dance floor.

A rustic window from provided  from Peanut's Gallery was used for a seating chart.

As the guest walked towards the ceremony a groomsman greeted each guest and asked them to hold the wedding rings and to give a short blessing to the bride and groom.

Ben's mother passed a few years earlier so on what would be her seat at the ceremony a memorial bouquet was placed and a picture.  It was a lovely way to show remembrance. All the flowers were arranged by Bend Bouquet.

I love the little place that color popped! Such as Kat's Shoes!

Ben is a part owner in the Cascade Couriers, so they brought in the Trailer with the taps to be poured by Twist.  They also worked with Stephanie at twist to create two signature drinks that were topped off with paper straws that looked like mini aspen trees and orange zigzags.

Following the Scottish heritage again Ben had a great beer horn as well as a custom mug for each groomsman. For a guest book the couple found a piece of wooden art to hang on their wall.  I placed it near the entrance with silver sharpies for the guest to leave messages on.  While the guest took turns writing (there almost always seems to be a line no matter what time it is) I placed a collection of family photo's for the guest to enjoy.

The bride and a few friends organized a flash dance surprise for afterwards the cake cutting.  Dave from Star Productions did a great job of playing the back ground music then switching the song at just the right moment for the dance.  The groom was caught by surprise as well as the guest.

Special thanks for all the great vendors who helped make this day possible.

All photo's are the lovely work of Abacus Photography.

Reasons to hire a planner

Brides do you have.....

Extra time during your engagement?

Relationships with vendors?

Someone to mediate disputes?

A sound background in etiquette?

A high tolerance for stress?

If you answered "no" to any of these questions, you may find that your wedding planning will be far more enjoyable if you hire a wedding professional, a Certified Wedding Specialist from Bend Wedding and Events

Two top reasons to hire a wedding planner~

1. Your planning a wedding somewhere other than where you live.....

Planning a destination wedding has it's pros, but it is hard to organize suppliers that you have never met.  A wedding planner who specializes in destination weddings knows how to get the job done the way YOU have always dreamed!

2. Vendor Knowledge.....

We live and work in Bend. Which allows us to have a 10 year relationship with Local vendors and venues to create your dream wedding.

4th of July Wedding

Eric & Julie decided to exchange vows at Julie's parents house up upon a hill on the  outskirts of Madras.  It was a hot day, pushing 100 degrees but we had some great vendors and a beautiful family to share the day with.

Bend Bouquets arranged the beautiful bouquets and arrangements that added a beautiful splash of color.  Tate & Tate provided the food, Olive bartending took care of the the thirsty guest, Powers Studio took all the amazing pictures in this blog and Dance Hall Days was the band that had everyone dancing late into the nights .  With the fireworks it was a magical night.

Bridesmaid Dresses

A great way to involve your wedding party is to let them choose their own dress.  A easy way to do this is once you have decided on your colors visit the paint store. Once there you can find your color and since it is a paint store it will have the family colors with it.   You can give each of your bridesmaids one and no matter how far away everyone lives none of dresses will clash!  You may want to set a length guideline if you are having a more formal wedding or if you have a preference.
